Governor Appoints New Members to CO Oil & Gas Conservation Commission July 12, 2007. Click here. BiographyMr. Wiemerslage has practiced law more than 30 years as a member of government, in-house corporate counsel for public companies and private law firms.
He served as an Illinois Assistant Attorney General in the Consumer Fraud Division of the Illinois Attorney General's Office for five years, overseeing fraud investigations involving automobiles, odometer rollbacks, home improvement frauds, etc. and recovering money for consumers.
He then served as attorney for Illinois Environmental Protection for 11 years, in its Divisions of Air, Land and Water Pollution Control and Public Water Supplies.
He joined Marathon Oil Company in 1990, serving first as one of its environmental attorney, then as its Information Technology/computer software licensing / hardware attorney until October 2003.
Mr. Wiemerslage then opened his own law firm in Colorado practicing law in various areas as described in this website.
Mr. Wiemerslage is a member and elected Council Member at Large to the Technology Law & Policy Section of the Colorado Bar Association for the last several years.
Mr. Wiemerslage was appointed to the City of Fort Collins Telecommunications Board and was appointed by the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce to its Environmental Committee. He was elected chair of the Environmental Law Subcommittee of the then Texas Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association while he was working in Texas.
He is currently an elected member of the Environmental Law Section Council of the Colorado Bar Association. He is a member of the following sections of the Colorado Bar Association: Communications & Technology Law; Environmental Law, Intellectual Property Law, and Natural Resources & Energy Law.
He has made numerous presentations on contracting and licensing issues in Information Technology, environmental law and estate planning.
